*When Vander Jones was born on August 19, 1907, in Paron, Arkansas, his father, Newton, was 36 and his mother, Nancy, was 25. He married Margaret Evelyn "Maggie" Ewell on May 3, 1932, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They had six children in 12 years. He died on December 17, 1965, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 58, and was buried in Saline, Arkansas.
