John Henry Harrison, 81, of Prescott, Arkansas passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. He was born March 25, 1941 to Johnnie G. and Helen Cottingham Harrison. John was a member of Prescott First United Methodist Church for 67 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Prescott Lodge No. 80. John spent his entire career in the timber industry. He was a supervisor for both of the roads departments and logging for Potlatch Corporation. After retirement, John became an independent timber consultant and started the company Harrison Woodland Services. He served his customers with integrity and skill and developed many lasting relationships throughout his working career. John was an avid outdoorsman all his life. He loved elk and deer hunting. His favorite past-time was being in the woods with his squirrel dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Frances Arnold.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Janice Bailey Harrison of Prescott; one son, John Matthew (Matt) Harrison (Allison) of Springfield VA; one daughter Sally Jett Kalkbrenner (Mark) of Benton, AR; four grandchildren, Kayla Hardage (Will) of Hot Springs, Elisabethe Kalkbrenner of Little Rock, Shelby and Patrick Harrison both of Springfield, VA; two great-grandsons, Henry and Harrison Hardage, one brother-in-law Richard Arnold of Ocean Springs, MS; two nephews, Jon Richard Arnold (Elizabeth) of Ocean Springs, MS; and James Anthony Arnold (Maeghan) of Little Rock, AR.

Services will be 11:00am Friday, January 27, 2023, at Prescott First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Dr. John Noggle officiating and Eulogy given by Pastor Terri Lynn Bunnell. Visitation will be at 10:00am one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at DeAnn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Steve Blevins and Teresa House for years of compassionate service as caregivers for their loved one. They will forever be a part of their family. Much gratitude goes to the Springs of Hillcrest. The family will always be grateful for the care and concern given by the nursing department, aides, and each and every caregiver involved in John’s care.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of BRAZZEL/CORNISH The Funeral Home of Prescott, Eddie Brazzel Director.
