World War I
September 26, 1899 - October 5, 1963
Ray Bryan Tilley, 64, Fort Smith, suffered a heart attack at the Arkansas-T.C.U. football game on the last play. He was pronounced dead on arrival at General Hospital.
He was a former Fayetteville resident, having moved to Fort Smith in 1949. He was office manager of the W. D. Jefffrey Construction Co., a member of the Methodist Church, a 32nd degree mason, a member of the Scimitar Shrine Temple of Little Rock, the United Commercial Travelers and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include the widow, the former Nena Mae Myers of the home; one son, Ray B. Jr. of Garland, Tex.; one brother, Floyd of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Stella McCuistion and Mrs. Effie Wilson, both of Denver, Colo. and three grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Methodist Roebuck Chapel in Fort Smith. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Local arrangements were by Nelson's Funeral Home.
