*Obituary

Jimmy Lynn O'Quinn, 80, of Clinton, Arkansas, shed his earthly robe for his heavenly one on Monday, Oct. 17. He was born in Amarillo, Texas, on Sept. 7, 1943, to the late Talmadge Devo and Ethel Rubydell Oquin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; both parents, Devo and Rubydell; and Sister Sue Dale.

Jim was a member of the Greenbrier Nazarene Church and served on the church board for ten years. He served the city of Greenbrier in many capacities, first as constable, then on the planning commission and eventually as city councilman. Jim helped initiate the Faulkner County Emergency Squad and also served on the Greenbrier Volunteer Fire Department. He influenced many young men as the leader of Boy Scout Troop 435.

Jim graduated from Balko High School in Oklahoma in 1962. He worked for Nabholz supply and then owned his own carpet store, O'Quinn's Floor Fashions, before opening O'Quinn Construction where he worked with his brother, Don; nephews, Jeremy and Dylan; and his son, Devo; and many others.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lynette; daughter and son-in-law, Benita and Brad Cain; son and daughter-in-law, Devo and Shellie O'Quinn; sisters, Darlene Vandeburg, Janet Westwood and Debbie Myer; brother, Don Oquin; grandchildren Morgan and Jake; granddaughter-in-law, Leslie Kirk, Chandler and Anna; and great-grandchildren, Isabella, Landon, Lincoln and Sophia. Jim also had numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly, a host of "grandkids" from around the world who called him "Grandpa" as well as many friends that he considered family. His quick wit, infections laugh and endless energy will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial will be held at the Greenbrier Nazarene Church, 64 N. Broadview in Greenbrier on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m., with Bro. Jim Sanders and Bro. Bryan Jones officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Thorn Cemetery at P.O. Box 663, Greenbrier, Arkansas, 72058, or the Faulkner County Senior Citizens Endowment using this link: www.donorbox.org/fcseniors.
