June 22, 1904 - December 27, 1968
John Ray Tipton, Sr., 54, of Fordyce, died Friday. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elise Ellis Tipton, Fordyce; a son, John Ray Tipton, Jr., El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. Betsy Ludlam, El Dorado, and Mrs. Shirley Petty, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. L. W. Crowder and Mrs. A. E. Crowder, both of Fordyce; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Baptist Church in Fordyce. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Fordyce under the direction of Benton Funeral Home. (El Dorado Times - December 28, 1968)
