James Ronald (Ron) Kimbell, 80, departed this life suddenly for his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Ouachita County Medical Center.

Ron was born on February 22, 1935, in Lamartine, Arkansas, to Aubrey Lee and Ruth Kimbell, the eldest of three sons.
He attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and completed his Master of Divinity at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Ron was a member of Cullendale First Baptist Church.

Ron was a retired Southern Baptist minister who faithfully served our Lord Jesus Christ for 66 years, pastoring churches in Arkansas including Mt Moriah in Murfreesboro, Turner Baptist Church, St. Charles Baptist Church, Humphrey Baptist Church, Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Dierks Baptist Church, Anderson Chapel at Dumas, Memorial Baptist in Waldo, North Maple Baptist in Stuttgart, and most recently Reader Baptist Church.

Ron leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 and a half years, Sue, brother Raymond Kimbell of Magnolia, brother-in-law James Hickman and wife Sue of Comanche, Texas, sisters-in-law Patty Camp of Cartersville, Georgia, Ruth Hunt of Henderson, Texas, Diane Isaacs of Camden, and niece Tiffany Isaacs of Little Rock along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey Lee and Ruth Kimbell of Magnolia and brother Richard Kimbell of Magnolia.

Ron and Sue served as house parents at the Camden Emergency Receiving Home. Ron retired from Ouachita County Medical Center Maintenance Department.

Funeral Services are planned for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden with interment in Antioch East Cemetery in Magnolia with Dr. Wade Totty officiating. Visitation is planned for Friday, May 29, 2015, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend special appreciation to Dr. Dan Martin, Ron’s physician for sixteen years and Dr. Wade Totty for his faithful ministering to Ron and Sue.

Ron’s life was dedicated to serving his Lord – looking forward to going home to be with Him. He enjoyed sharing Jesus with others. Ron was a fan of Southern Gospel music and was quick to tell others.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ron’s memory to Cullendale First Baptist Church or to Gideon’s International to continue sharing the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ and the awesome God we serve.
