STALCUP, Letha Louise - (from Colville) Word flew over the country early Sunday morning that Mr. and Mrs. Thatcher Stalcup's infant daughter was dead, which came as a great shock to all as the little one had been in apparently perfect health. The parents spent Saturday evening with one of the neighbors, returning about ten o'clock, retiring soon after. The mother was awakened shortly before five o'clock by the baby who seemed to be breathing hard. She took it up and it gasped only a couple of times and expired. Dr. Highfill was called and pronounced the little one's death due to heart failure. Little Letha Louise was born Nov. 24th, 1911 and died Feb. 11, 1912, being three months and 11 days old. A little flower that bloomed for a time that God saw fit to pluck for his own. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. McDaniel of Cave Springs and the little one was laid to rest in the Hart cemetery. The grief stricken parents have the sympathy of the community.
