James Lee Whitefield, 67, 1300 Highland Drive, died Sunday in a local hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Whitefield was born Sept. 9, 1902, the son of Robert L. and Mary Geneva Mansker Whitefield. He was a retired Missouri-Pacific fireman. Whitefield had lived in El Dorado for the past 20 years and was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Willie Louise Whitefield, El Dorado; a son, Billy Ray Whitefield, El Dorado; a brother, Bill Whitefield, Texarkana, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wyatt Baptist Church with the Rev. W. A. LaBeff officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Young's.
