Hollis “H.J.” Stevens, 86, of El Dorado, passed away, Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Timberlane Health and Rehabilitation. He was born December 14, 1929, to James Thomas and Diamond Swint Stevens in El Dorado, AR.

He was the owner and operator of Steven’s Roofing, of which he started in 1947. H.J. was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, the El Dorado Coon Hunting Club and the Bassmasters Club.

Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, Karen Stevens Wilson; two sisters, Clarrice Ann Poole, Josephine Martin; a grandson, Errol Esparza; and a step grandson, John S. Beebe, IV.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Dorothy Warren Stevens; son, David Stevens (Dora) all of El Dorado; step son, Randy Warren (Pam) of Crossett; two step daughters, Vicki Atkinson (Randy) of Hot Springs, Patti Paulus (Sam) of El Dorado; grandsons, Aleck Gayle; two granddaughters, Amanda Thompson, Britt Stevens; four great grandchildren, Nicholas Gayle, Jordan Gayle, Alexis Gayle, and Treavor Thompson; and six step grandchildren, Jim Warren, Leigh Thompson, Ashley Solomon, Courtney Paulus, Cari Filer, and Amber Spencer.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Meek officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
