June 10, 1920 - December 22, 1968
Medford Lee Dumas, Jr., 1108 College St., 48, died at 12;22 p.m. Sunday as the result of a gunshot wound. He was a retired office manager of Midwest Dairies, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Civitan Club, treasurer of Sunday school class at First Christian Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruth Jean Dumas; three sons, John Medford Dumas, Ronald Wayne Dumas, Robert Martin Dumas; one daughter, Pamela June Dumas; one brother, Sammy Dumas; one sister, Mrs. Hershel Smith, and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church with Rev. Alan Abraham officiating, assisted by Rev. Rayford McLean. Pallbearers are Robert Neely of Smackover, Richard Lawrence, Don Bradham, Tom Black, Deawood Sims and Andy Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are C. D.Lange, E. B. Cobb, the Men's Bible Class of First Christian Church and the Civitan Club. Burial will be at Rest Haven cemetery under the direction of Bailey's Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - December 23, 1968)
