William Richard Sutton, 64, of Little Rock went to his eternal home on January 22, 2021.

Richard will be remembered for his compassion, kindness, and generosity. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior as a child at Immanuel Baptist Church, Little Rock. He graduated from Little Rock Parkview High School in 1974. He attended the University of Arkansas and graduated from the Memphis Academy of Arts in 1981.

Richard was creative and talented, with passions including art, the outdoors, animals, and most of all, helping others. His interests led him to careers in farming in Hope and real estate in Texarkana. Following his retirement, Richard moved back to Little Rock and focused on art. His drawings and paintings are sold in art galleries, and Richard often gave them as gifts to his family and friends.

Richard loved people and never missed an opportunity to help others. He joyfully gave his time and resources volunteering, teaching art to troubled youth at local prisons and community centers, and providing free housing and food to the homeless and hungry. Everyone he met became a lifelong friend.

Richard was a blessing in the lives of all who knew him. His family and friends love and will miss him dearly, but take comfort at his presence now in the arms of the Lord.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy and William H. "Buddy" Sutton. He is survived by his sister, Becky Sutton Kirkpatrick (Dan); brother Wes Sutton; nieces, Katie Kirkpatrick Choate (David), Mary Kirkpatrick Doddridge (Nathaniel), and Rebecca Kirkpatrick Bahn (Chris); nephew, D. Michael Kirkpatrick (Leigh); aunt, Roxie Sutton Lawrence; uncle, William Freeman; cousins, Bernie S. Hargis, III (Barbara), Roxanne Hargis Watkins (Dennis), Jennie Freeman Sexton (Bob), and Sarah Freeman; along with a host of other loving family .
