Mr. Hoyle Franklin Waits, 68, of Springhill, Louisiana went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Willis Knighton Health System in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was born September 28, 1939 in Hamburg, Arkansas and after a few years he moved to New Iberia, Louisiana and was raised there. He had been a resident of Springhill since 1979. He was a veteran of the United States Army and after serving four years in the Army, he started his career working in the oil field where he started at the bottom and worked his way up to become a Drilling and Completion Engineer. He retired from Nelson Energy and started his own consulting business. He was a Baptist; an avid hunter and he loved the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Frank and Clara Waits, and a grandson, C.J. Waits.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Betty Gloria Waits of Springhill, Louisiana; three sons, Chad Waits and wife, Darlene, of Walkers Creek, Arkansas; Shawn Waits and wife, Donna, of Sarepta, Louisiana and Chris Waits of Springhill, Louisiana; two grandsons, Nathan and Jesse Waits of Walkers Creek, Arkansas.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2008 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Myron Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Travis Wallace, Emmitt Wallace, Sammy Wallace, Bill Wallace, Dennis Branton, and Joe Sepulvado. Memorials may be made to the Willis Knighton Cancer Center, 8001 Youree Drive Ste. 500, Shreveport, LA 71115.
