Marvin Earl Terry, age 72, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Mr. Terry, son of Earl and Mamie (Hartcock) Terry, was born on January 10, 1949, Eagle Pass, Texas. Subsequently graduating high school Marvin enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country proudly. On March 24, 1968, he was united in marriage to Virginia L. McCoy in Garfield, Arkansas. Marvin enjoyed working with young people by mentoring and watching them grow. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored. Marvin was a member of the Roaring River Baptist Church in Eagle Rock and the Cassville American Legion Post #118.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Virginia Terry, of Cassville; one daughter, Carolyn Smith and her husband Donny, of Nacogdoches, Texas; one son, Timothy Terry and his wife Jonnie, of Cassville; two granddaughters which he raised, Faith Householder and her husband Nathan, of West Plains, and Jessica Resto and her husband Matt, of Lancaster, New York; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Terry, of Houston, Texas and Walter Terry, Englewood, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by one son, Robert Terry; one grandson, Matthew Earl Terry; and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with Pastor Charlie Lauderdale officiating.
A private family burial will be at the Springfield Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
