James David Hacker, son of S. D. Hacker and the late Lois Faye James Hacker, was born February 18, 1968 in Harrison, Arkansas. He departed this life June 2, 2021 at his home in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 15 days. He was united in marriage to Shandle Mitchell in 2004 and together they raised one daughter. Dave spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, provider and friend. At the time of his death, he had been employed for fifteen years by the Izard County Sheriff's Department as a Dispatcher. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

David enjoyed music. He was an All-State trombone player in high school and went to ATU on a music scholarship. He also played guitar and piano and loved to sing.

Dave is survived by his wife: Shandle Hacker of Nashville, Tennessee; one daughter: Amara Hacker of Melbourne; his father: S. D. Hacker of Melbourne; two sisters: Sherry Lawrence of Melbourne and Vicky Norton and husband Robert of Sage; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; paternal grandparents: Clyde and Dot Hacker; maternal grandparents: Rev. Dennis and Dale James; one brother-in-law: Tate Lawrence.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne with Rev. Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Melbourne Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Charley Melton, Steve Davidson, James Norton, Shane Farmer, Jason Jordan and Jessie Williams.

Honorary Pallbearers: The staff of the Izard County Sheriff's Office, Jailers and Dispatchers.
