X. L. Rogers, former Camden resident, was killed Friday night during a reported robbery of the service station he owned and operated in Kansas City, Mo., according to authorities. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Kansas City. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth Rogers; a step-daughter, Bobbie of Kansas City; his mother Mrs. Ada B. Rogers of Camden; two brothers, Henry Rogers of Cleveland and Francis Rogers of Camden, and four sisters, Mrs. Venice McNeal of Kansas City, Mrs. Cora Cox of Kingsport, Tenn., Mrs. Margariete Wilson and Mrs. Lillie Mae Utsey of Camden. Funeral services will be held at Good Hope Baptist Church in Buena Vista on Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery by Williams Funeral Home. (Camden News - July 16, 1974)
