Mr. James "Jim" Hampton, 69 of Van Buren, Arkansas died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Sparks-Selected Speciality, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a security guard at UAFS; affiliated with Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Van Buren, Arkansas; and formerly of Logan County.
Mr. Hampton is survived by his wife:Sue Dobbs Hampton of the home; one son: Robert Hampton of the home; one sister: Marie Hampton of Paris, Arkansas; two nieces:Judy Lee of Greenwood, Arkansas and Joy Carson & husband , Doc both of Dayton, Arkansas; one grandchild: Gabrielle Diane Hampton; and many good friends.
Funeral Services were held at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Van Buren, Arkansas on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at 11:00 in the morning. Elder Doug Kennedy, officiated the service.
Mr. Hampton was laid to rest at Yoestown Cemetery in Alma, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were: Rodney Shay, Brent Carson, Sean Pittman, Mark Mackin, John Gervin and Jack Lowrimore, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were: Doc Carson and Frank Glaser.
