June 18, 1896 - April 4, 1964
John J. Rodgers died Monday in a local hospital. He was born in Texas the son of Henry and Texanna Young Rodgers. He was a member of the Church of Christ, 806 Barnes St. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Minnie Rodgers; one daughter, Mrs. Clarice Bennett; two step-daughters, Mrs. Christine Jackson and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Johnson all of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sons, M.J. Rodgers, Seattle, Wash., Silvester Rodgers and Joseph Rodgers both of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Charles and Mrs. Alberta Grant of Los Angeles, Calif.; 22 grandchildren.
