When Thomas Jackson (Pete) Simpson was born on December 18, 1879, in Lick Mountain, Arkansas, his father, Thomas, was 31 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 22. He married Sarah Elizabeth (Sally) Deal on February 11, 1900, in Conway, Arkansas. They had four children during their marriage. He died as a young father on October 21, 1909, in Scotland, Arkansas, at the age of 29, and was buried there.
