James “Sammy” Poole Jr., 67 of Altus, was called home to be with our Lord on April 2, 2016. Mr. Poole was born October 23, 1948 in Natchez, MS. to Mr. James Sr. and Wille Fay (Smith) Poole. Sammy loved to be with his family, he loved the Beatles, he loved working with his hands, and he is one of the most talented, artistic, musical, family loving and Godly man ever known. Mr. Poole is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Gayle Robson Poole.

Mr. Poole is survived by his wife, Pamela Poole; two daughters, Angie and Eddie Dye of Hartman, and Jennifer and Jerry Hickman of Clarksville; two sons, Brandon and Savannah McCartney of Ozark, and Thomas Bankston of Altus; four grandchildren, Cody Dye, Anna Lea and Gary Perry, Kaydance Bankston, and Jace McCartney; two great-grandchildren, Sophie Rabb, and Kynslea Perry; three brothers, Harold and Ann Poole of Natchez, MS., Carroll and Linda Poole of Webb City, MO., and Mike Poole of Churchill, MS., along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be graveside 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Liberty Hill cemetery in Hunt, with Pastor Joe Lancaster officiating, with Cody Dye, Gary Perry, Brandon McCartney, and Thomas Bankston serving as honorary pallbearers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home
