March 1, 1928 - April 3, 2015
Mr. William R. Fair passed away on April 3, 2015 at Grace Home in Shreveport, LA. Born March 1, 1928 in Haynesville, LA he spent his early life in El Dorado, AR and later lived in Opelousas and Cut Off, LA. He was recently moved to Shreveport from Vidor, Texas where he retired from Texas Eastern Pipeline, a company for which he had worked 40 years. Mr. Fair served his country during the Korean War. He was a mechanic by trade and could fix anything.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Bettie Parks Fair, recently moved to Shreveport, his daughter Joy Fair Ratcliff of Shreveport, his son William Robert Fair, Jr. “Bobby” of Anderson, Texas, son-in-law John G. Ratcliff, Shreveport, daughter-in-law, Lavonne Smith Fair, Anderson, three grandchildren, William Robert Fair III, “Billy” and spouse, Madeline H. Fair, College Station, TX, Thomas Kalford Ratcliff, Jackson, MS, Mary Melane Fair, College Station and one great grandchild, Emma Lynn Fair, College Station.
Mr. Fair leaves many friends to grieve his loss. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a man who put God first, family, second, others, third and himself last. He took care of everyone he could for as long as he could, taught Sunday School until 2 months prior to his death and was ready to be with the Lord.
Visitation for Mr. Fair will be Monday, April 6 from 10:00-11:00 with service immediately following in the chapel at Young’s Funeral Home in El Dorado, Arkeansas. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetary.
