HOPE, Ark.—Sanford “Sambo” Dixon, 64, of Hope died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, in a Texarkana, Texas hosptial.
Mr. Dixon was born May 17, 1950, in Chicago. He was a truck driver, barber and an auto body worker.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Dean Dixon; one brother, William Dixon Sr. of Hope; one sister, Lillie Mae Whitmore of Camp Springs, Ark.; four sisters-in-law, Martha Dixon, Betty Hale, Wanda Gill and Darlene Armstrong of Hope; two nephews, William Dixon Jr. and Jim Dixon of Houston; one niece, Eric Dixon of Hope; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church. Burial will be in Camp Springs Cemetery, Columbus, Ark., under direction of Hicks Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
