Stanley H. Benefield, age 72 of Monticello, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020, at his home in Monticello. He was born July 12, 1948, to the late John and Imogene Smith Benefield in Houston, TX. He worked for the USDA in the Cotton Division and had a Master's degree in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University. He was a member of the Reserve Officers Training Corps for four years while he was in college at Sam Houston State.
Stanley is survived by his wife Charolette Lockhart Benefield of Monticello; three daughters, Tammy Murphy and husband Robert of Hasslet, TX, Jennifer Goad and husband Jeff of Warren and Rebecca Stewart and husband James of Monticello; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and one brother John David Benefield and wife Carla of Weatherford, TX.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Campground Cemetery. COVID guidelines should be followed.
