Larry Stephen (Steve) Taylor, age 76, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away April 21, 2018, at his residence.
He was born May 15, 1941, in Glendale, California, to Charles Alexander and Dorothy Marie Kardack Taylor. On May 11, 1963, he married Sharon Lee Lochner in Santa Sophia Catholic Church in Casa De Ora, California. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1964, and moved to Mountain Home in 1972 from Casa De Ora.
Steve was a devoted and faithful member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church where he was a daily communicant and leader of the Rosary. He was also a member of the Fisherman Council Knights of Columbus. Steve had worked as a technician, clerical worker and plant manager at Mar-Bax Shirt Manufacturing Company, as a licensed funeral director and pre-arrangement counselor with Roller Funeral Home, and in advertising for Conservative Talk Radio 97.1 in Mountain Home. He was an integral part of the family business, Alley Abstract. Steve's life was devoted to faith, family, friends and country.
He is survived by his wife: Sharon L. Taylor: of the home; a son: John Joseph Taylor: Mountain Home; three daughters: Mary Ann (Ron) Caster: Mountain Home; Michelle Marie (Jeff) Schudar: Lakeview, Arkansas; and Angela Marie (Jim) DeGroote: Mountain Home; a brother: John "Jack" (Karen) Taylor: Oceanside, California; a sister: Karen V. (Bill) McKeever: Grand Terrace, California; twelve grandchildren: Diane M. Caster, Richard (Amy) Caster, Joseph "Joey" Caster, Amanda Marie (Jacob) Kasinger, Thomas "Tommy" (Erin) Schudar, Katie Beth Schudar, Aaron Zachary Taylor, Gage Austin Cooper, Alexander James "Alex" DeGroote, Sarah Marie (Vincent) Leone, Michael Joseph DeGroote, and John Stephen DeGroote; a great granddaughter: Melody Rose Crane; two sisters: Sandra and Mary Lochner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be at Roller Funeral Home on Friday, April 27, 2018 from Noon-9:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. A Vigil Service will be at 7:00 P.M. with Reverend Norbert Rappold officiating. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Norbert Rappold, Reverend Stan Swiderski and Reverend Nazarus Maduba as Celebrants. Interment will follow in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John and Aaron Taylor, Ron and Joseph Caster, Jeffrey and Tommy Schudar, Jim and Alexander James DeGroote. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Caster, Michael DeGroote, John Stephen DeGroote, Jacob Kasinger, Steve Esposito, Mike Peterson, Jerry Caster, Brian Schwartz, Vincent Leone and Jim Lockard. Memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
