Mr. Charlie "Diddy" Stevens, 75, of the Number Eight community died Sunday, January 11, 1998 at his home.
Born in Huffman, Ark. to the late Clayton and Kate Simpson Stevens, he was a lifelong resident of the Blytheville, Ark. area.
A grandson, Tracy McClanahan also preceded Mr. Stevens in death.
A member of Pathway Church of God at Blytheville, he was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
Mr. Stevens leaves his wife, Mrs. Panetha Lott Stevens; Five daughters: Cathy Bartlett of Byron, Ga., Sharon Arnold of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jeanette McClanahan and Patricia Renfro, both of Blytheville, and Shirley Williams of Mitchell, Ind.; A son, Grady Stevens, of Natchitoches, La.; One sister, Velma Robbins, of Blytheville; Two brothers: Lawrence Stevens of Michigan City, Ind. and Calvin Stevens of Blytheville; Fourteen grandchildren; and Six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Stevens were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 1998 at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Rev. L.V. Rigney, Rev. Danny Pankey, and Rev. Gabriel Williams officiating.
Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville with Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge.
