MOUNTAIN VIEW - Edith Ruth Collett, 76, of Mountain View, died Monday, March 5, 2001, in Mountain View.
Born Nov. 9, 1923, in Blackwell, Texas, she was the daughter of Will and Edith Paul Durham. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church and retired from the military, serving in Women's Army Corps in World War II Army.
Survivors include two stepsons, Dennis Collett of Junior, W.Va., and Douglas Collett of Russellville; two stepdaughters, Denise Maxson and Melody Powell, both of Jacksonville; a brother, Paul Durham of Shreveport, Ill.; 12 step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Collett, and her parents.
The funeral will be at 11 am Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Mountain View with the Rev. Jackie Fendley officiating. Burial will be at Flatwoods Cemetery with arrangements by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View.
Pallbearers are Ray Craft, Jay Jones, Teddy Morris, Bill Giberson, Von Dean Jeffery and Dr. David Riddick.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 pm Friday.
