When Septimus Prasse Morrison was born on July 16, 1856, in Dubuque, Iowa, his father, Sylvester, was 39 and his mother, Malina, was 30. He married Mary Elizabeth Hobson;Morrison; Lecocque and they had two children together. He also had one son from another relationship. He died on August 3, 1943, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 87, and was buried there.
