FELKER, Ruth NEWBOLD - {from The Siloam Springs Daily Register, June 25} Ruth Newbold Felker, wife of Bun Felker, died at the home of her aunt, Mrs. E.W. Newbold, at 11 a.m. yesterday after a lingering illness. This untimely death came as a sad blow to her husband and friends who have been watching and hoping for her recovery. Mrs. Felker had been ill for several months and was brought here from Rogers about two months ago with the hope of relieving her suffering. The young lady was reared in Siloam Springs and always held a host of friends and admirers. She was married about three years ago and has since lived in Rogers. The funeral will be held there tomorrow, a special train conveying the remains. The train will leave the K.C. and M. depot at noon and the services will be held at 3 p.m. Mr. Felker left his work as cashier of the Bank of Rogers about two weeks ago to be at her bedside and has remained constantly with her. The friends of Mr. Felker and of Mrs. Newbold and Ray will sympathize with them in their sorrow.

Word was received here yesterday noon of the death of Mrs. Bunn Felker at the home of her aunt, Mrs. E.W. Newbold, at Siloam Springs about eleven o'clock. She had been failing in strength for the last two weeks and her death was not unexpected by relatives. Mr. Felker had been with her at Siloam Springs for several weeks and at one time it was thought an improvement could be noted but it was only a brief hope that was soon dispelled. Mrs. Felker's death was the result of an abcess on the brain and there was but little hope given for her recovery after the physicians of St. Louis diagnosed the case as such last winter. Her aunt, Mrs. Newbold, has been with her all the time, staying at the Felker home in Rogers until the first of May when they went to Siloam Springs. Mr. Felker made the trip to Siloam each night when the schedule permitted but went over to stay when his wife grew worse. The relatives here went over yesterday morning on a special train when it was learned that the end was near but we understand that they did not arrive until after her death. It was three years ago last Christmas when Bunn Felker, son of W.R. Felker, surprised his friends by wedding Miss Ruth Newbold of Siloam Springs and brought her to Rogers as one of the sweetest and prettiest brides of the season. During her residence here she was one of the most popular young women of the city and when her great affliction became known last winter it brought sorrow to the hearts of all our people. The body will be brought to Rogers today and taken to the W.R. Felker home. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F.F. Freeman, corner Elm and Fourth streets, at three o'clock. Burial in Rogers cemetery. A special train will be run Friday from Siloam Springs and Fayetteville.
