When Charles Marion Johnson was born on April 14, 1919, in Fox, Arkansas, his father, Benley, was 29 and his mother, Cora, was 25. He married Edith Berry on December 4, 1937, in Stone, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on October 30, 1994, in Mountain View, Arkansas, at the age of 75, and was buried there.
