DRAKE, Lester - Dr. Lester Drake, a specialist of St. Joseph, Mo., died May 23rd in that city. A serious accident which occurred when he was boarding a train at New Hampton, Mo. caused his death. The remains were brought to Bentonville Monday for burial. The funeral services were held late in the afternoon at the home of Miss Sallie Jackson. He leaves a wife and two children and many friends who will miss him.

Word reached here Sunday that Dr. Lester Drake, former Gravette boy, of St. Joe, Mo., had been killed by a train, having fell under the wheels when attempting to catch his train as it was pulling out of the station. Relatives were called to Bentonville Monday where funeral and burial took place. Many people here sympathize with the family.

Lenna Jackson Drake

Mrs. Lenna Jackson Drake, 100, Bentonville, died Monday afternoon at an area nursing home. She was born Aug. 10, 1874, in Neosho, Mo. Most of her life was spent in Bentonville. She was the wife of the late Dr. Lester M. Drake. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Bentonville, and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Lester M. Drake, Bentonville; and Dr. S. Jack Drake, South Bend, Ind.; two nieces, Mrs. Virginia Drummond and Miss Josephine Floyd, both of Bentonville, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Callison-McKinney funeral chapel in Bentonville with the Rev. Jack Vinson officiating. Burial will be in the Bentoville Cemetery.

A memorial has been established at the First United Presbyterian Church in Bentonville.
