GALYEN, Orval - {from Clantonville} Orval Galyen was born Jan. 31st, 1891, died Feb. 9, 1926; was married in 1921 to Miss Rosa Ash. The disease, T.B. of the bone, of which he died, was contracted while serving his country in the World War. He bore his sufferings patiently which at times was very intense. He was for some months in the government hospital in Colorado and it was while there he had a stroke of paralysis and completely lost his hearing. Orval was known to be a good boy, a kind husband and about three months previous to his death professed a hope in Jesus. He leaves besides his wife, his aged father, three brothers and four sisters, he being the youngest son. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Monta Taylor and his body was laid to rest in the Roller cemetery beside his babe who died in infancy. A large crowd was present and some nice floral offerings were made, one being presented by the Red Cross of red and white carnations and blue sweet peas. His last days were spent in the home of his father-in-law, M. Ash here; everything possible for his comfort was done. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives.
