June 1, 1871 - November 4, 1945
Fordyce, Nov. 6 -Elder Claudis Hopkins Cayce, aged 74, of Thornton, died in a Pine Bluff hospital Sunday. He was minister of Primitive Baptists church and published the church paper, "The Primitive Baptist" at Thornton. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Floriday Cayce of Pine Bluff and Mrs. Ilene Bewley of Russellville; three sons, Claudis Cayce, Jr. of San Diego, Lt. Fleming Cayce in Manila, and Pfc. Hartsel Cayce on Okinawa; a brother, O. F. Cayce of Alva, Okla., and a sister, Mrs. A. N. Ragan of Thornton. Funeral services will be held at the residence in Thornton at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
