Richard Alfred Burton, age 74, of Camden, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Ouachita County Medical Center. He was born August 25, 1935 in Camden.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dorothy Burton of Camden; son, Jimmy Burton and wife Jill, Hot Springs; daughters, Margaret Hoskyn and husband, Charles of Sherwood, Julia Dyke and husband Randy, Camden, Janet Graham and husband Scott of Camden, Jennifer Schucker and husband Butch of Clarksville, Bonnie Bostic and husband Dennis of Marshall, TX; grandchildren, Kristen Burton of Hot Springs, Cameron Lammey and husband, Sean of Benton, AR, Natalie Mosley of Sherwood, Brandon Jennings and wife, Heather of Camden, Sarah Starnes and husband, Justin of Camden, Laura Dishner and husband, Barrett of Prodenone, Italy, Trey Schucker, Audrey Schucker, Mason Schucker all of Clarksville, AR, and Chris Vanpelt of Boulder, CO; great grandchilden, Parker Hosman, Tristan Jennings, Kayleigh and Kelsey Starnes, and Abby and Keira Dishner; and brother, Roy Burton of Camden.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Corley and Nanny Burton; two brothers, Johnny Burton and Eddie Burton; three sisters, Dorothy Cogdell, Oleta McLendon, and Wanda Cross.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from International Paper Company, Woodlands Division. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Grace Baptist Church with burial in Missouri Cemetery at Chidester. Brother Richard Foster will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at the funeral home. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
