Clarence Estin Terry, of Mayflower, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was born on January 20, 1919 in Winslow (Sunset), Arkansas to the late D. G. and Sylvia Sebourn Terry.
Clarence was raised on a farm in Sunset, Arkansas and served his country in the Navy during WWII where he worked at Pearl Harbor as a heavy equipment operator. He drove a city bus in Ft. Smith and also drove for Oklahoma Transportation. He was a driver for twenty-five years for ABF Truck Lines until his retirement. He loved trains and engineered a steam train in Eureka Springs. After he retired, he made fiddles and many items in his wood-working shop.
Clarence was saved in Free Will Baptist Church in Ft. Smith and was baptized in a creek at Rudy, Arkansas in April of 1953.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nell Terry; and two sisters. He is survived by E. Kay (Terry) Mobley; Dee (Houston) Honeycutt, Dwight (Jane) Terry, David D. (Debbie) Terry, Judy (Larry) Harwell; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 30, at Mayflower Cemetery in Mayflower. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas.
