PARTRIDGE, Frederick - (from Cherokee City) Frederick Partridge was born in Norfolk County, England Dec. 27, 1835, died at his late home north of Cherokee June 24, 1913, 3:30 a.m. with that dreaded disease, dropsy. He had been ailing for some time; came here less than a year ago from Burwell, Neb. where he had lived many years. A daughter came, but too late, her father had passed away. A son-in-law, Mr. Gilbert, attended him in his last sickness, also a daughter, Mrs. Phillips, who lives near. He leaves a wife, 6 children and 27 grandchildren. He was a man who had lived up to the Golden Rule; honesty was his motto. The body was laid away in the Dickson cemetery. The family extends thanks to their neighbors and friends for assistance.
