Mary Ann Young of Altus, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in Altus. She was a homemaker, a member of Eastern Star, avid Square Dancer, and a member of Altus Methodist Church. She was born November 27, 1937 in Coal Hill, Arkansas to Dr. Edward W. and Mary Adeline Newton Pillstrom. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Newton, and Edward Pillstrom.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, W.C. “Bill” Young of Altus; a son, Mark William Young and wife Stacie of Atlanta, Georgia; four daughters, Mary Jane Rofkahr and husband Jim of Altus, Sharla Kay Wiederkehr and husband Dennis of Altus, Cindy Lou Frye and husband Billy of Mansfield, Betty Rose Neumeier and husband Kurt of Alma; two sisters, Sally Jones and DeEsta Shaffer both of Ozark; thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 9, 2018 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Vernon officiating and burial at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. Family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, November 8th at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial St. in Ozark.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Joan Kay Medlock, Shae Sampley, Teresa Johnson, Lisa Bramucci, Emily and Kalynn Estep, Brittany Childers, and Bonnie Allred.
Serving as pallbearers are Joan Kay Medlock, David, Newt, Don Ed, and Jack Shaffer, Lance Pillstrom, Stanley and Douglas Carter. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Nichols, Jerry Young, Stephen Estes, and Tony Pillstrom.
