December 22, 1888 - December 6, 1964
Homer Truel, 75, of St. Louis, Mo., died Sunday morning at his home following an apparent heart attack. Mr. Truel was born Dec. 22, 1888 in Sedalia, Mo., and was the son of William and Sarah Thompson Truel. Mr. Truel had lived in St. Louis for the past 30 years and was a retired employe of the Missouri-Pacific Railroad. He was a Mason. Survivors included his widow, Mrs. Gladys Bivens Truel of St. Louis; a brother and two sisters. Local relatives include Jack Bivens and Mrs. O. J. Price. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. M. H. McManus officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery under direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be A. G. Kelly, J. W. Kelly, A. M. Kelly, Bob Pennington, Robert Beard and Sanford Nesbit. The body will arrive in El Dorado at 3 p.m. Tuesday and will be taken to the home of Mrs. O. J. Price, 215 W. Center St., at 5 p.m. (The El Dorado Times - December 8, 1964)
