John W. Mellgren, 85

John W. Mellgren, age, 85 of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at Twin Lakes Therapy and Living Center. John was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 4, 1927. He was the son of the late Edmund and Florence (Boxell) Mellgren. John worked in his family's business in St. Paul for more than 20 years before he and his wife, Helen moved to Yellville, Arkansas in 1974. John started the Weldit Corporation of Yellville, Arkansas and was the President/Owner until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army Veteran attaining the rank of Corporal. He was a member of Church on the Rock in Yellville and had been active in the Food Closet Ministry.

Mr. Mellgren is survived by his wife, Helen, of Yellville; one son, David W. Mellgren of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; two daughters: Susan Staffon of St. Paul, Minnesota; and Nancy Styer of Yellville.

He also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many of his close friends.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at The Church on the Rock in Yellville, Arkansas with Bro. Kevin Duffy officiating

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
