Duane Earl Chapman died from injuries received when his father accidentally backed his pickup over him.

LONE ROCK CHILD KILLED IN TRUCK MISHAP THURSDAY
Earl Duane Chapman, 4, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Chapman of Lone Rock, was fatally injured last Thrusday evening around 6 o'clock, when he was run over by a pickup truck driven by his father.
The father was backing the truck and did not see the child in time to prevent the accident, according to attendants at Saltzman Hospital, where he was taken following the mishap. The boy underwent emergency surgery, but died on internal injuries around 11PM Thursday.
Last rites were held Sunday afternoon at Burnt Schoolhouse with Rev. Harvey Hazelwood officiating.
He was born Jun 10, 1951, at Lone Rock. Survivors incude the parents; three brothers, Gary, Denis and Leffel Dale; one sister Lavenda and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Parnell of Norfork and Mr. and Mrs. Ossarro Chapman of Lone Rock.
Interment was in Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery, uder the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
