Leonard Allen Mars, 81, of Paris, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in Paris. He was born January 5, 1928 in Russellville, Arkansas to Allen and Vergie Mars.He was retired from Rheem and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Paris where he served as the church treasurer and a deacon for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Vergie Mars; a brother, Carl; and a sister, Audrey. He is survived by his wife, Florence Anita Mars; 5 daughters, Alice Mars of Fort Smith, Marilyn Blum and husband Jerry of Paris, Reba Pfeiffer and husband Danny of Fort Smith, Laveda Romero and husband, Larry of Clarksville, and Patricia Mitchell and husband Raymond of Charleston; 1 son, David Mars and wife, Mary Ann of Huntington; a sister, Loretta Parker of Fort Smith; a brother, Jerry Mars and wife of Blountsville, Ala.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
