William is the son of John Henry Galloway and Sophia Harris Galloway (also buried in this cemetery). William was born 18 Dec. 1843 in Talladega Co., AL and died 16 Aug. 1919 in Culp, Baxter Co., AR. William served in the Civil War (Confederacy) in Co. F&S, 8th Ark Cavalry, as 1st Lieutenant and Adjutant. He married Hester Ann Davis 29 Apr 1866 in Talladega, Talladega Co., AL. They had nine children: Margarette, Andrew J., Robert E., Henry Tolbert, Hose Columbus, William Harvey, John F., Alan, and David Lano.
