ROGERS — Harry Hays "Corky" Council, age 91, of Rogers, died Dec. 20, 2013, at his home. He was born in Rogers on June 20, 1922, to the late Nathaniel and Maude (Hays) Council.
Harry served his country in the US. Air Force during World War II and was stationed at a B-U base in London.
He was a carpenter and home-builder in Northwest Arkansas and later worked for Union Carbide for 16 years and became a farmer after retiring. He was a member of the VFW Post 3031 in Avoca, and was the longtime caretaker of Tucks Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his children, Jim Council, Linda Munoz and husband Alex, Larry Council and wife Linda, all of Rogers; grandchildren, Diana Cook of Rogers, Toby Council of Gentry; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Council, in 2009.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Burial will follow in Tucks Chapel Cemetery.
