Larry Dean “Delbert” Hill of Melbourne, Arkansas
Larry Dean “Delbert” Hill, son of the late Noble Jewel Hill and Lorene Pearl Garner Hill, was born January 27, 1951 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life December 28, 2016 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 1 day. He attended Mount Pleasant High School and earned an Associates of Arts degree in Sociology from Arkansas State University in Bebee. He was united in marriage to Donna Watson May 28, 1971 in Melbourne, Arkansas and to this union two daughters were born. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he was a self-employed salesman. He sold everything from cars to fencing. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a proud member of the Wilson Creek Sportsman Club. Larry especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Melbourne Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Donna Hill of the home; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Heather and Spencer Bishop of Little Rock and Holly and Joe Cooper of Melbourne; one sister: Shirley Barnes of Horseshoe Bend; four grandchildren: Alexander Hill Bishop and wife Ali, Bret David Bishop, Halle Jo Cooper and Roby Hill Cooper; one great grandson: Alexander Jon Bishop; niece and nephew: Michelle Glaviao and Phillip Barnes both of Raytown, Missouri and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew: Terry Barnes; brother-in-law: Jack Barnes: two aunts: Velma Crafton and Wanda Moser and his father-in-law: Wayburn Don Watson.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 31 beginning at 12 noon at Church of Christ in Melbourne, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Melbourne Church of Christ with Ryan Loyd and Tim Porter officiating. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: Joe Cooper, Roby Cooper, Spencer Bishop, Alex Bishop, Bret Bishop, Jerry Johnson, Michael Watson.
