1891 - 1964
Milton W. Benton, 72, died Wednesday at his home 1164 Washington St. He was a Mason and a Baptist. Mr. Benton, who was born November 11, 1892, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Grayson Benton of the home; one son, James Clark Benton of Littleton, Colorado; four sisters, Miss Bessie Benton, Miss Katie Benton, Mrs. Bud Pickett all of Chidester, and Mrs. John Glover of El Dorado; two brothers, Jack Benton of Chidester, and R. N. Benton of San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Hillside Baptist Church, with Rev. Herman Voegele Jr. officiating, assisted by Dr. George Ivey. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery, Chidester, with Camden Funeral Home in charge. The body will remain at the funeral home until service time. (Camden News - February 13, 1964)
