ROGERS — Alvin Dale "Slim" Roney, 78, of Rogers, departed this life on Aug. 31, 2011, in Bentonville.
Dale was born Aug. 6, 1933, to parents John K. Roney and Alta Mae (Haynes) Roney. He was self-employed, and had been in the fruit and produce business since age 14.
He is preceded in death by both parents, and his daughter, Nancy Mae Monson-Roney.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Jim Chambers, Dale Junior, Jerry Lee, Frank Ray and Michael Lee Roney, brothers, Darrel Ray, Jack, Lowell and John Roney; and a sister, Joyce Jacobson. He also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Pratt Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at Rollins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left in Alvin's memory to any local Methodist church.
