Obituary
Mother Ethel Lynn Johnson was born November 9, 1930 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Henrietta & Tayler Sanders in Brownsville, Tennessee. She was married to the late Charley Williams and to this union was born a daughter Irene Williams. She also bore a son, the late Deacon Roy Lee Raymond Sr. Later she met and married, the late Earl Johnson and to this union two daughters was born~ Earlene & Betty Johnson.

Mom accepted Christ and became a faithful member of the St. James Temple Church of God in Christ until her health failed under the leadership of the late, Superintendent James D. Alexander.

Mom, loved her family dearly! She adored her son in law of 54 years Superintendent Larry who she referred to as, “Elder Larry”. She was a woman who was not afraid of work. Mom, worked as a sharecropper for Paul Benham & Flippin Sisk for many years to provide for her family. She worked as a private duty Nurse Aide and was employed as a cook at Nunnally School Cafeteria in Marianna, Arkansas.

Mom, peaceful transitioned on April 6, 2017 at her home in Colt, Arkansas. She was preceded by her husbands: Charlie Williams; Earl Johnson. Her son, Deacon Roy Lee Raymond; brothers: Booker T., Jimmy; Lee; Luster; and Roy Lee Sanders; sister Callie McDaniel; one granddaughter who she raised as her own, Lakandra Martin and two great granddaughters Kizzie Martin Haynes & Antonia Danyel Larry.


Mom leaves to cherish her loving memory. Three daughters, Irene (Superintendent Emmett) Larry Jr. of Moro, Arkansas; Earlene Martin of Marianna, Arkansas; Betty McDaniel (guardian) of Colt, Arkansas; Shaquitta Adams who she raised as a daughter of Memphis, Tennessee; Terrance Martin (grandson) who she raised as a son of Little Rock, Arkansas. Two sisters, Sarah (Wilburn) Haynes of Gill, Arkansas; Aunttie McDaniel of Forrest City, Arkansas; one brother, Floyd & Gertrude Sanders of Memphis, Tennessee. Mom had 26 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren. Host of nieces and nephews, and cousins. A loving caregiver Cadavia Dawson.
