James Henry Houston,Sr., was born September 26, 1950 to the union of Odis Houston and Hilda Hardaway.

James attended Gonzales High School in Gonzales, Texas.

He later joined the United States Coast Guard. He graduated from San Francisco State University. He spent the last 30 years as a Project Manager, last working for the Acxiom Corporation.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Houston and father, Odis Houston.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife (Mary Houston); a son (James Houston II); a daughter (Keisha Houston); two grandsons, Kall'El Houston and Jaylen Houston – Hay; three granddaughters, Aiyana Houston-Hay, Khylee Houston and Khloe Houston; five sisters Nettie and Marie Houston, Tammy, Janice, and Mary Henderson (maiden names); one brother, Curtis Houston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street.

Funeral services will be Friday at 9:00 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth with interment following at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
