SHREVEPORT, La. - Clara Lea Birk, 92, passed away in Shreveport, La., on Sept. 14. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Moren in Huntsville, Ark., on Sept. 3, 1923.

Clara worked in Southern California for AT&T as a operator for 42 years. She was an avid basketball fan, liked gardening, volunteering, and traveling. She loved her church. She was a member of Robinson Ave. Church of Christ in Springdale.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Nancy Carson, and many brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband George Birk, one son, Randall Mixon and wife Karen of Afton, Wyoming, two daughters, Debra Myers and husband Bob of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., and Cindy Kinkel and husband Paul of Carlsbad, Calif., four grandchildren, Renee Harlow and husband Christopher of Shreveport, La.; Evan Kinkel of Portland, Ore.; Brandon Kinkel of San Diego, Calif.; Lindsay Briggs and husband Chris of Carlsbad, Calif.; and six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Robinson Ave. Church of Christ in Springdale on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 12 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 108 E. Sunbridge Drive, Fayetteville, Ark., 72703. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofunerl.com.
