Husband of Ina Louise (Nunnally) Richey. Son of Everett and Pansy (Taylor) Akley.
Cecil Robert "Bob" Akley, 86, of Smithville, died Dec. 6, 2007, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
He was the son of Everett and Pansy Taylor Akley and had lived in St. Louis before moving to Smithville. He had served as a pilot in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Nunnally Akley; two daughters, Linda Brown and Mary Akley; two sons, Bobby Akley and Cecil Robert Akley Jr.; a sister, Ethel; and four brothers, Emmett Akley, Fred Akley, Claude Akley and Floyd Akley.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Goforth, of the home; four grandchildren, Viola Green, Cecil Robert Keeling, Angela Stokes and Jeremy Goforth; eight great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Tina Patton.
Graveside service was Monday at 2 p.m. at Old Lebanon Cemetery, near Lynn, with Don House officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
