Minister James Hart, Jr. was born on Jan. 24, 1964 in Searcy, Ark. He was the son of Moderator Rev. James Hart and Katie M. Hadley-Hart of Kensett. He was the grandson of the late Andrew and Rachel Abigail Hannah-Hart of Kensett and the late Steve and Evelyn William-Hadley of Kensett.

James was a 1982 graduate of Searcy High School where he was an active member of the drama club. He attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway where he was an active member of the prestigious "Ebony Singers" Choir. He was also one of the teachers of the "Soul Food" Bible Study group. He later graduated with honor from the National Education Center School of Electronics in Little Rock, Ark. with an Associate's Degree in Electronics.

James gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He attended Arnold Chapel C.M.E. Church and Centennial Baptist Church in Kensett, Ark. He was active in a variety of Church activities which included Bible study, Sunday School, and the children's choir. Upon moving to Conway, Ark., he united the Christ Temple Holiness Church where he was a former member of the choir, trustee board and co-chair of the Shepherd's Inn Food Bank. In January of 2007, he accepted his calling into the ministry, preached his first sermon and was active as an associate minister of the church.

On July 6, 1991, James was united in Holy Matrimony to Lillian Jones of Osceola, Ark. Although they had no children of their own, they were blessed with three god-children: Cameren Mickens, Raven Mickens and Nicholas McDonald of Conway.

Minister Hart passed away peacefully in the arms of his family on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lillian; his parents, James and Katie Hart of Kensett; his sister, Katie Loretha Hart of Kensett; his brother, Aywon Hart of Kensett; his mother-in-law, Lula Jones of Osceola, Ark.; his sister-in-law, Shirley Jones of Woodbridge, Va.; his niece, Jardae Jones of Woodbridge, Va.; his nephews, Jarvis and Joshua Jones of Woodbridge, Va.; four aunts, Anna Goodlow of Kensett, Mattie B. Young of Little Rock, Macie Lee Rice of Kensett (Adell), Clara King of Milwaukee; three uncles, Roosevelt Hadley of Judsonia (Verlene), Rayfield Hadley of Kensett (Claudia), William Hadley (Kensett) and a host of relatives, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, at Christ Temple Holiness Church in Conway, Ark. Interment will be in Crow Cemetery, Kensett, Ark.
