November 17, 1891 - April 26, 1979
Casle Gard Edwards, 87 years, 5 months, 9 days, died on April 26, 1979 of congestive heart failure at 8:00 a.m. at his home on 502 South May Street in De Witt. Mr. Edwards was born on 17 November 1891 in De Witt, Arkansas to James L. Edwards and Emma Kible. Gard as he was known, was a veteran of WWI and a retired farmer who lived in Arkansas all his life. He was the husband of Susan Emily Winkler until her death in August of 1925. They had two children, Athelone and Phyllis. On April 8, 1928 he married Lottie Myrtle Malone and this marriage produced five more children, Marcena, Charles, Shirley, Shelby, and Carroll. Services at Landmark Baptist Church on Sunday April 29, 1979 at 2:30 p.m. with Bro. Dennis Moon of De Witt officiating. Burial in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens.
